Ashfield Trails is an all-volunteer organization committed to building and maintaining a community network of sustainable, non-motorized footpaths in and around the Town of Ashfield, MA. It was founded in 2003 to ensure that the interior beauty of our natural surroundings are available to all, young and old.
Learn about our history. Get to know our mission statement.
As of 2020 we have 20 miles of trails with plans to continue with many
more, made available to us by The Trustees of Reservations and many private
landowners. The ultimate goal is to have an interconnected
network of trails circling around town which will link to the center
of town, and eventually to the trail systems in neighboring towns.
We are not a town committee and we rely on donations to fund our work as we
receive no funds from the town budget. In past years we had received several
grants and had gratefully collaborated with the Franklin Land Trust as a
fiscal sponsor. Today we rely on your donation to help pay for tools,
chainsaw fuel, lumber for decks & bridges, signs, maps and miscellaneous
hardware.
We welcome any and all those interested in helping us, either financially or with physical boots-on-the-ground labor. Please sign up with us on Facebook to receive all the latest information about our work days and special events.
